The Sabbath day
was for families
to reunite and pray
putting aside work
either in the home or away
to a chapel or Synagogue;
Family was the root
of the structure
in society also to boot
for to all it was special
until now it is horns to toot
or towels to wave;
In Russia it was tradition
thus in Paris the same
in London it was condition
and in the Arabian states
still today a religion
while who knows of tomorrow;
Still each Sabbath regardless
of your faith or belief
most respect another non-the-less
in worshiping who or what
they please or chose to bless
while others now do not;
Please don't think the next is trite
though it is now oft repeated
we've taken prayer and its might
out of school and found guns instead
to help our youth adjust to the fight
in understanding about life and fame;
Where will we be on the Sabbath day
of our choice freely to choose;
worrying about what others will say
then following the restless crowd
or on our knees somewhere to pray
this is to ponder in the example we set;
To love one and all in devotion
as read in Proverbs; John; or James;
is to cause some small revolution
with the trend our leaders have chosen
to lead us astray in their convolution
of what is right and wrong or true!
