Forced
so to walk and crawl
the trestles
no longer stand
burnt
long ago in the wars
gaps and
rivers still there
high
cliffs and charred wood
dropping
a 100’ to begin
posts to
reach and hope
timber
to timber across
till the
other side found
100’s of
feet to climb
many
falling in the gap
unable
to endure crossing
too
difficult – giving up
succumbing
to the world
crossing
burned bridges!
