This is date night
and the children
have learned the value
of dressing me up
in time to go;
They of course
suggest the dates
so dad is not left alone
to walk in fields
and view the stars
they say is less
expensive than a meal
they think I could
cook better anyway;
Sometimes if it feels
right they suggest a movie
and in weakness
we take them along
(I didn't know animation
had come so far -
or Star Wars was a movie
and not a defense plan)!
