drills to thus excel
large
and small ships to man
lonely
patrols on the oceans
extended
tours without relief
stacked ¾
high in bunks
hearing
the general quarters
quickly
to their stations found
hours on
end to engage
once
short range only to be
now
miles in distance away
targets
when in various ports
when not
commanding seas!

considering
everything a target
hunters
under the seas always
expecting
depth charges each
living
without seeing the day
ever
patrolling and seeking
many on
eternal patrols
(due to a
foolish media)
each new
sub a treasure
a home
away from a home
relying
on each crew member
highly
trained and efficient
considering
everything a target
by
themselves a special class!
