"Mother's Day" (reality and Anna Jarvis*)

“Mother’s Day”
(reality & Anna Jarvis*)

5/11/14

A special day to honor Mother’s
daughters of Heavenly Father
endowed in marriage to procreate
bringing children into this world
then to nurse, raise, protect
through infancy to accountability
providing the guidance within
making the home a safe place
thus doing her share in raising
(father’s a similar role different)
once the importance known
thus in such homes found today
honor and respectful love had
wishing each Mother honor
on this their Mother’s Day
(and on every day each year)!

(Addendum:

Above as Anna Jarvis intention
1908 seeking to show this honor**
1914 Congress making it official***
kidnapped by commercialism
as in all things once sacred
grabbing for the money tree
even today with crude jokes
abused within the welfare
children shunted far away
procreation now an industry
destruction of the mother/father
tv – movies – advertising – laws
allowing all that Anna foresaw
from the charlatans and termites****
sadly only some remember intent
remembering Father’s daughters
where honor is truly understood
by their son and daughters
thanking their Mother this day!)

*Anna Jarvis’ original intention was that Mother’s Day would be a day to honor the sacrifices women made for their families. Anna Jarvis died alone in a sanatorium in Pennsylvania having been put their at age 80 and dying four years later in 1948. How interesting that she was born just prior to the end of the Civil War – and interned near the end of WW2.

**1908 first Mother’s Day took place
***1914 Congress passed a law creating Mother’s Day as a holiday
**** “… charlatans, bandits, pirates, racketeers, kidnappers and termites that would undermine with their greed one of the finest, noblest and truest movements and celebrations.” Anna Jarvis 1924
“Mother’s Day is a personal, family and memorial day. It’s a celebration for sons and daughters; a thanks and offering for the blessings of good homes.” Anna Jarvis
