Over much of our nation today

offending those at some risk

honoring the sacrifices given

preserving our Constitution

freedoms, families, way of life

honor to be shown various ways

within Prayer, Flags, Taps

some humble speeches to hear

rolling drums and horse beats

cannonades and rifle honors

tears of memories and love

freely shared between veterans

families extended and close

for on Memorial Day to honor

grateful for their sacrifices

so we can be free and alive

offending those who care not

over much of our nation today!
