Understanding
feet on the ground
burrowing
from line to line often
digging
fox holes or trenches
muddy
dirty and wet for days
seeking
the higher grounds
mindful
of snipers in trees
jungles,
deserts, high forests
rivers,
swamps, long shores
comradeships
and loneliness
seeking
the enemy always
crossing
minefields cross-wired
without
glory only guts and blood
pushing
ahead as commanded!
