the world in memory
nations honor
fallen dead
sometimes
forgetting reasons
ignoring
the caused abuses
some in
freedom others denial
blinded
to their nations today
leaders
stand and laugh
without
wars destroying still
placing
self over the laws
children
wonder in lost awe
flags
flown at half-mast
presidents
smile beguiling
doing
what armies could not
with pen,
paper and phone
killing
breath by breath
nations
once free – alive
honoring
evil not heroes
a world
in memory dead!
