Heard the rolling
thunder
drums and fifes long
ago
bugles in the morning
air
then in the evening
taps;
While marching and
drill
horses to be tamed to
ride
shouting and
screaming
closing in combat
close;
Today is heard
silence
jungles and swamps
alive
deserts and
wildernesses
house to house to
house;
Day and night engaged
enemy disguised
within
hiding in religious
clothes
creating silence in
combat!
