“What of Holidays”

(Prelude: I’ve to offend some

happens almost to all who come

when apart from the world’s fun

seeking honest questioning done

dealing with the truth life is won!)

 

Time within the worldly teaches

That we’ve excuses and reaches;

 

Creating reasons for more wealth

Calling it the gaining of great pelf;

 

Selling cards and or gifts to share

Sometimes without love nor care;

 

Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving

Trading in glamour not forgiving;

 

Mother’s Day – Father’s Day

Grandparents Day – just any day;

 

With little relevance to date or why

Eliciting emotions so many to cry;

 

Changing dates on the calendar

As if mixing salad in a colander;

 

Forgetting the Resurrection is fact

Then preaching otherwise with tact;

 

Christmas nothing to do with birth

Any and all should note in mirth;

 

The Savior born in the Spring of year

While only pagan dates in end of year;

 

Saints galore with false credentials

Made so lacking all the essentials;

 

Some of green and or the ground

Others high on poles were found;

 

Some should be everyday to be

For the needy each day to thus see;

 

While others honor satan and worse

Providing the world with a curse;

 

Is there any day not to give honor

a mother or father good not to honor;

 

Yet much is placed on making profit

While each day to negate a Prophet;

 

Ponder long and hard why this is so

For someday each and all to know;

 

Giving thanks is needed everyday

Forgiveness of others not just to say;

 

Needing clothes, foods and toys

Children need as girls and boys;

 

Let us remember why we’re here

Lifting others hearts and in cheer!

 

(Epilogue: having offended some

today my work is still not done

for some will wonder all as one

why the world still has not won

seeking irresponsibly having fun

worshipping sun and not the Son!)
