Not what you think it once was

abused and ashamed by many

outlawed in Boston town once

while worse than Halloween

marauders going door to door

trick or treating or looting too

unwilling to acknowledge laws

pretending the season to rejoice

ignoring family and or the Savior

celebrating Christmas as hedonists

surely drunk and disorderly

forgotten today in history of lust

wherein many find greed the same!

 

*Understand to me Christmas as

Thanksgiving are everyday of the

year for those our sisters and brothers

in need. Thus when some proclaim a

season or even just one day - then abuse

this sacred time in selfishness' greed

I find the reflection of history to be

relevant more than ever today!
