“Teeming with Platitudes”

How the words flow outward
filling the vacuum with noise
crying come unto here be found
send your money to be saved
languishing are the poor/naked
loud sounds from the crowds
teeming with platitudes empty
without promises of the eternal
with creeds making little sense
yet many flocking to the noise
perfected from the repetitions
unlike the Sabbath Day once
where few met in humble prayer
others to keep the day holy
serious doctrines taught to obey
Abraham, Moses, Ether, Enoch
Adam, Joseph, Nephi, Alma
John, Peter, Jacob, Paul
wherein now is found silence
fulfilling their prophecies fully
logismoi instead of the gnosis
wisdom of men/women so to be
while the wisdom of the Father
the teachings of the Savior
being taught only as needed
in their sermons and speeches
teeming with platitudes of trite!
Thus where are we found today
teeming to the masses worldly
or on our knees seeking truth
pondering the Scriptures all
a disciple of our Savior, Jesus
harkening unto the living oracle
the Prophet called of our God
(for there is one now on earth
not self-called but of God so
denied as in the days of old
by the world of platitudes)
teaching from the Scriptures
as did the Savior and Prophets
found today only if one seeks!
