Saying they want peace

while really they want power

saying they want to know

while really they feel they do

saying they will now listen

while really they’re deaf

saying they want to see all

while really they’re blinded

saying they can feel you

while really they’re cold inside

mixing messages to control

beguiling in this negotiation

seeking compromises endless

while strengthening power

seeking only your/our defeat

saying what you’ll believe

while meaning nothing said!
