Each year we mark time
called birthdays to most
have we gained a year
or is it another behind
was there gain within
or just loss left tethered
have we grown or shrunk
time within wisdom found
thus on this day was one
and wishing our son more
knowing wisdom gained
forming father and husband
better today than yesterday
always growing/learning
may continue this be
when wishing you my son
