“Something Sacred”

With failing words or wonder

unworthy sometimes to pen

something sacred to believe

in everyday and every night

remembrance of the Savior

who gave his all for everyone

suffering indignities beyond

where many would’ve died

fulfilling a mission covenanted

long before we were born;

 

Prophets over time to warn

their lives to be forfeited

by worldly men who’ve lied

willingly in evil to respond

contention in anger done

denying ever to be a Savior

that there should be no light

thus teaching all to deceive

making Prophet’s robes to rend

something sacred to ponder;

 

All around the world today

many celebrate Jesus’ birth

understanding the sacredness

clearly truth to acknowledge

seeking humbly more to share

while being ignored as well

the worldly have a Christmas

gifts and toys and partying

drinking and showing off

thinking not of the one born;

 

Their covenants now torn

forgetting all and to scoff

finding too late and startling

the true meaning of Christmas

unwillingly to their knees fell

withering tears of despair

something sacred to fledge

awakening a flower’s caress

an inner light of great worth

for each and all I do pray!
