“Getting Late”

Stayed in the woods
too long
enjoying the peace
and quiet
watched a six hour
performance
water fowl dancing
and singing
sometimes only nine
on stage
then without warning
hundreds
on and on this went
all afternoon
so it is getting late
and I’ve to pen
weaving words to
share with all
such loveliness
shared today
between the birds and
nature
and I the lone
observer found!
