Bringing gifts of pelf
bribing one’s way
into the hearts of all
proclaiming a spirit
unknown to truth
yet ye celebrate;

Books long barren
unread and hidden
in place is the trash
read and imagined
portrayed with filth
yet ye celebrate;

Scriptures left alone
priests and scholars
ignorant in wisdom
teaching nonsense
mixing in some truth
yet ye celebrate;

This time of year
death of a Savior
then a resurrection
raised from the dead
alive but ye deny
yet ye celebrate;

Flesh and bone felt
food/drink partaken
a testimony of many
but untaught by men
mysteries and myths
yet ye celebrate;

Long in blindness
wisdom of the fool
greed of the world
unable to reason
believing nonsense
yet ye celebrate;

Yet the Scriptures
true and literal all
yet the Savior
Son of the Father
both flesh and bone
this is why to celebrate!
