Okay everyone here’s the plan

we count our fingers each one

one, two, three, four and five

six, seven, eight, nine and ten

eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen

are you still counting why yes

and fifteen, then we all stop;

All the items in the cart to shop

counting them each not to guess

remember only up to fifteen

yes the program is simple then

anyone just anyone can survive

how can we know we’re done

they’ll let us our shopping scan!

(Addendum:

We are doomed in this land

English, Spanish, or Arabic

language no longer needed

like the caveman long ago

only our fingers to know

education no longer heeded

to this program we’ll stick

our heads buried in the sand!)
