of night
grumblings and
discussions
tall tales and
lavender tastes
bright light off
goggles worn
hundred’s killed
wantonly
without guile or
concern
lives destroyed at
Utah
others meeting at
Tarawa
pillboxes and
barriers
all causalities of
warfare
flames blowing sparks
old men talking the
night
moon out of the sky
talked
endless the days and
nights
in the miscalculation
of some
wanting successes to
claim
leadership not at the
fires
only the grunts to
recount
history books left
empty
never sitting at the
fires
grumblings and
discussions
without guile or
concern!
