My
Reply:
With
love is the key – it requires ‘feelings’ and one of the first things to go is
‘feelings’. In the Scriptures it talks about, “Past Feelings” as referring
to the carnal nature of people.

19 Who being past feeling have given
themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Moroni 9:20
20 And now, my
son, I dwell no longer upon this horrible scene. Behold, thou knowest the
wickedness of this people; thou knowest that they are without principle, and past feeling; and their
wickedness doth exceed that of the Lamanites.
Love
requires the ability to have feelings – in addition, other than ‘puppy love’ or
‘lust’ requires understanding and knowledge. It comes from learning and
discerning what is truth from fiction – to see beyond the seductive images and
bright lights. And then one has to decide the idea of right or
wrong. Or as you’ve stated wrong or correct. Nothing can be correct
without knowledge and understanding – i.e. feelings. Emotions have to be moved
internally not externally. Yes one can hear Kate Smith sing, “God Bless
America” but since it is external the emotion is short lived and would guess
for some not at all. It is doubtful someone who hates – and most past
feelings hate – i.e. become cruel, spiteful, carnal and ultimately
apathetic. We’ve not very many who can now love – distrustful – and
confrontational – but not able to love. Why this repetition – think of it
– if one does love – what or who should they love? They should love
Heavenly Father and His Son – this is the first great commandment. Next
they should love themselves and therefore to love their neighbors (all of the
Father’s children). Remember, we’re to love everyone – but not their
actions, sins, crimes, etc. How do we know many no longer love?
Simple – how many keep the Commandments? Very few – just look about – it isn’t
rocket science – how many honor their father and mother? How many Keep
the Sabbath Day Holy? How many do not steal, covet, lust after, envy, take the
Lord’s name in vain, swear a curse or murder? It isn’t just the easy ones
to obey – how many have false images – crosses, alters, symbols of
gold/bronze/silver – medallions?
Accusing
no one – just asking simple questions – which should have simple answers – but
instead one finds excuses, justifications, rationales, confessions,
absolutions, and others to bail them out in their preaching’s and false
authority. Simple questions found throughout the Scriptures – each time
the chosen people had returned to their false gods or those found around
them. How often was Moses cursed and all of the other Prophets of the
Scriptures. We’ve done the same today – over and over again. We
listen to the radios, tv’s, huge carnival churches, tent meetings, mass
meetings – send money to be saved or to be absolved or healed and so much
more.
Love
of the Father and the Son from this nation which claims to be Christian – is
negligent at best and apathetic at the least. Watch how those who start
their own churches – or otherwise lead the churches of the Reformation – cars,
money, wealth but only if they preach and teach what those who pay their
salary, provide their home/food like what they’ve to say. Thus 5% of the
Scriptures are taught and the other 95% are ignored. What isn’t liked in
the Scriptures is denied, changed, or called symbolic. We’ve symbolic
Christianity in name only – with a resemblance of truth mixed well with Greek
Philosophy and man/woman’s rhetoric and logismoi.
But
why beat a dead horse to death – we’re in deep trouble – and unless we repent
and hold to the covenants we’ve made – we’re no better than those who’ve gone
before.
