Remembering the past
wondering why to know
yet still there it to last
blindingly often to show;

Horrors of fires and flame
as if protected by the ice
projecting justified blame
holding eternally in a vice;

Yet cries of anguish heeded
where another hears a cry
for the future to be seeded
no longer asking of why?
