“Patience”

Great among the gifts
seeking one to have
always with us at least
give us more time often
our plea especially above
imploring more time please
patience we’ve to require;

Yet how many implore us
more time please give us
and we harden our hearts
saying – no now deliver
while yet imploring above
more time please give me
I implore this of thee;

Then on the Sabbath day
expecting a day of rest
time to reflect and pray
time to give service away
yet found watching TV
going to football games
forgetting those with needs!
