Each day we lay a foundation
one time a brick or a stone
sometimes a slimy mire
other times ice and snow
depending on choices made
each Sabbath Day to renew
covenants made so long ago
most forgetting and ignoring
seeking only worldly riches
without foundations anywhere
building on sand and water
while only a very few doing
what is needed to be done
one brick or stone at a time
laying a foundation firm!
