“Of Eternal Worth”

So often spoken of great worth

which is as nothing eternally

whatever is earthly stays behind

when seeking entry of the veil

all earthly things begin to pall

it’s of that eternal worth to remind

common sense applied naturally

when seeking of eternal worth;

Such should marriage be found

instituted by Father and Son

first to Adam and Eve as one

then to each of us as worthy

obedient and trust worthy

enduring to the end to be done

with Father and Son as one

in eternal marriage bound;

Can one then count years

if blending so many tears

those of such happiness

mixing in those of sadness

found in our 49 full years

filled with our love’s tears

thus as with Joyce and I

discerning forever’s why!
