Once a worthy calling to be

fixing and repairing in need

wandering place to place

bringing news and history;

 

Their background’s mystery

appearing without a trace

but with wisdom all to heed

looking forward next to see;

 

Now politicians thinking same

tinkering with whatever found

never anything broke to find

just feeling important to be;

 

Sadly our history now to see

disjointed and ugly to remind

into hell’s trash heap bound

anti-tinkers claiming their name!
