Characterized by determination to be true

undeterred by the loathsome worldly jeers

found often alone and shut out by peers

never given a glance to your pure view;

 

As Socrates’ forced to drink the hemlock

those with honesty found the same today

while all about the ill-repute scorn and play

and of your virtue they laugh and mock;

 

Honesty, charity, virtue, chastity of value

lauded throughout the heavenly abode

requiring one on this earth to be very bold

representing the highest mortal statue!
