“A Day
to Remember”

There
are no cheering crowds
mostly just
silent observations
kneeling
in humble prayers
tears
freely to rain upon cheeks
no
parades – no crowds – no …
this is
a day to be remembered
for now
and in the distant past
even for
those in the future years
Veteran’s
Day – honoring today
valor,
bravery, duty, service
so many
women, men, children
families,
parents, neighbors
visiting
hallowed grounds fair
extending
feelings and emotions
knowing
here many died for us
that we
might live free within
some
having given their all
a nation
should stand in awe
understanding
many will not
(but
this isn’t their day – today
however their
freedoms come
those
who served where called)
many
live free today thankful
for the Veterans
of our Nation
One
Nation Under God Still
amid the
silence of prayer
within
the silent crowds!
