Waiting
again to late in the day
how much
has happened once
repeated
in many venues again
killing
in the name of warfare
sometimes
on a port city Darien
others landing
on island beaches
one from
the aggressor from air
other from
the eradicator of evil
same day
same results dying
never
longer taught in schools
especially
in the US or Japan
while
Australia honors their own
and the
Americans at Darien
while
the beaches wetted blood
on Iwo
Jima 70 years ago known
a day
not to be forgotten for some
seeing
the flag once raised
yet our
nation in much denial
our leaders
totally ignoring costs
for some
this day remembered
in the
struggle for freedoms
from the
tyranny of parasites
unending
with different names
playing
even today their games!
