Forgetting others
might remember
forging the old as if
only the new
lies once told still
only the same lies
fooled once – fooled
twice and again
so many thinking it
nectar to drink
succumbing to the
seduction of evil
oblivious of the past
and of failures
ignoring grief and
suffering to repeat
enjoying the moment
of entitlement
forgetting all that
they might excuse
breathing in the
nepenthe of old
then drinking it
boldly to justify all!
