Comprehend”

How long
ago and far away
someone first
said thank you
maybe at
the cross whispered
or when
driven from the garden
perhaps
a child to a parent
or the
wayfaring man of grief
surely
Job was thankful forever
do we
comprehend our role
what is
expected of us to do
can we
be grateful this day
saying
our thank you truly
found in
the vineyard
or perhaps
in the garden
able to
pray and have joy
for the
sacrifice of another
our
Savior and our Lord!
