Were Almost Gone”

Lost on
the desert floor
blistered
and burned
raw and
bloodied sand
my feet
were almost gone
while
yet onward I walked
standing
straight and tall
ever
towards light and call
never in
stumbling balked
fearful
of the night or dawn
my
prayers never banned
my faith
never to be turned
found at
the Father’s door!
