Rooted to a hole dark
underground attacked
cut worms and worse
my enemies diverse
or to be weed wacked
my life is very stark;

Planted waiting for rain
hoping to grow so fast
interestingly simple life
filled with much strife
hoping longer to last
amid a world’s distain!
