“Skipping”

As a child skipping
defying all gravity
limbs and hair flaying
such joy of this youth;

As older classes skipping
unimportant and boring
passing anyway with age
foolishness of youth;

Soon now reading skipping
allowing others to explain
justification time limited
it really doesn’t matter;

Skipping all the essential
filling desires and passions
power, wealth and avarice
all that really does matter;

As aging takes importance
relative to our eternal
too late we’ve found out
much needed is missing;

For in the teachings of men
there is nothing beyond
just a nothingness to be
skipping all of the scriptures!
