In from the cold
there on the stove
even young or old
this treasure trove;

Hot soup prepared
knowing I was here
with friends shared
tomato or broth clear;

Never understood
how one so knowing
made soup so good
hot and so glowing;

Today just the same
bringing warmth within
as love to proclaim
our wonder to win!

(Addendum:
Sometimes not soup
but safety of a prayer
in our family group
with warmth to share!)
