“Unable to Move”

Through the endless night
screams rang forth
as the flames leaped higher
babies cried
bystanders watched stunned
unable to move
firemen fought bravely
but the fire kept on
raising higher and higher
floor by floor
then the screaming stopped
as the building crumbled
and quiet came forth,
as people died/cried
through the endless night!
