afflictions of the vacant
darkening
the light of day
eyes
failing evermore to see
shadows
of the filtered smoke
unable
to penetrate darkness
anguish
and grinding of teeth
driving
as the beasts in fields
blinking
to break the spell
of the
dimness of affliction!
