Difficult
to believe just yesterday
held her
in the palm of my hand
she with
her tubes mixed with mine
sang to
her ‘Child of God’ quietly
then an
Irish lullaby bit off key
she’d come
early able to meet me
her
friend born the day before
now she’s
14 years old today
watching
her grow and play
how much
more is in store
the
whole world able to see
an
athlete and loveliness to be
her
movement deftly and quietly
high mountains
able to climb
she’s
now able to hold my hand
Corinne’s
14 seems just today!
