“Golfing
for Fun”

Engaging
in awesome battle
lines drawn
in the sands
(usually
by rakes and such)
but still
combat all the way;
Snakes
in the woods they say
yet we’re
told not to touch
gators
nipping at our hands
while
like children we prattle!

Golfing
for fun and laughter
supposed
to be so serious
keeping
score of our strokes
even mistakes
often made;
Never in
the ponds to wade
or making
of off-color jokes
or screaming
as if delirious
proper
protocol to go after!

Strangers
at the beginning
put together
as a team new
yet
knowing it would be fun
no
stresses or pressures;
A
wonderful day’s pleasures
golf,
friends and the sun
gratefully
a wonderful view
everyone
foolishly grinning!
