Ever so many years
whispers able to share
secrets of young wisdom
smiles of wonderment
remembering not before
just the since when
a friendship begun then
never once closing a door
a common commitment
providing each other balm
within good or bad to share
and of happiness’s tears!

(Addendum:

A friendship not to end
eternal beyond this life
a mortal probation only
never meant to be lonely
while yet having strife
once and always a friend!)
