Maybe even to ask of Hughes

or Patton, or Bradley or Audie

we need heroes of real men

willingly to understand and lead

World War Two is long ago today

most could care less of D-Day

on the streets of today is hatred

crimes against nature continue

ignorance and illiteracy abound

drugs, sloth, apathy, entitlement

while in the halls of government

lies, cheating, scandal, fraud

in our schools nothing taught

surely none are asking today,

‘Where are you – Audie?”
