The word hypocrite is from the Greek word ὑποκρίτης (hypokritēs),
the agentive
noun associated with υποκρίνομαι (hypokrinomai κρίση,
"judgment" »κριτική (kritiki), "critics") presumably
because the performance of a dramatic text by an actor was to involve a degree
of interpretation, or assessment.
“The Hypocrite”

Feigning
to be so self-righteous
putting on
such a good show
wearing
make-up as a disquise
becoming
the double-standard
pretending
even to have wisdom
too far
into their roles as the thief
stealing
another’s identity as own
believing
then to be able to judge
telling
right from wrong in values
while
demeaning the virtues all
dragging
into the dirt and ashes
given
hero worship of the gods
while
only being the hypocrite!
