“Within Flight”

As the infant child
looks out from crib
seems so far away
the floor the sky
even the toys about
much like the chick
so high in the nest
looking over all
waiting for mother
wanting so to fly
to be within flight
taking off in grandeur
flirting with the
ground
stumbling some landing
within flight is each
the infant the chick
us and them each
within flight our minds
taking in so much
our lives so full
our lives so full!
