Awareness
of the morning
maybe
birds singing gaily
church
bells in older cities
children
arising to dress
prayers
being said by many
while
the world is asleep
pretending
today is a day
not the
Sabbath Day
just
another day to play
sports,
movies, golfing
ignoring
the Father/Son
saddened
my tears fall
unable
to scratch awake
getting
through to so few
The
Sabbath Day to keep
one of
the Commandments
(‘if you
love me keep my…
Commandments
– all of them’)
but for
why to continue
as the
warning to be heard
birds
singing – a child prays
awareness
on this morning!
