Begun by
some at age eight
being thus
accountable within
accepting
the worldly noise
rushing
to be much older
accepting
the coldness there
winners
and losers found
taking
by the stronger seen
beating
down one’s feelings
till no
longer able to feel
having
chosen the present
outside
the reassuring warmth
till
feelings left in the cold!
