“Wandering Sheep”

Of the fold once protected
hearing the shepherd’s voice
yet wandering now alone
some by choice others not
storms of affliction driving
feelings being now shunned
thus as wandering sheep
further and further away
into a lion’s or wolf’s den
unable to see the light
forgetting of their fold
listening strange voices
yearning for the shepherd
unknowing where to look!
