Once flown ever so proudly

(some think too proudly)

while always to the front

(now found in closets)

having given hope to all

(being apologetic today)

leaders without allegiance

(weary under pressure)

carrying a dead weight

(congress/courts apathetic)

maligned in the media

(proudly pushing agendas)

other flags being flown

(not the red white and blue)

from our embassies to see

(embracing the worldly)

irreverently disgraced

(illegal immigrants/others)

flying their nation flags

(burning and desecrating)

so few seem to understand

(where so much blood shed)

Freedom represented today

(only by the red/white/blue)

stars in the field of blue

(with eternal hope not change)

within God’s Law bound

(weary under pressure)

once flown so proudly!
