Yesterday to remember
years also gone bye
generations passed away
cemeteries marking some
who’ve paid the price
freedom demands still;
If you’ve the time or will
knowing who paid thrice
future events yet to come
marking always this day
yesterdays to remember;
Family, nation and life
wounded or in death
soldiers of wars ago
needing time to know
amid hurrying crowds;
Bounded in shrouds
never more to grow
their candles aglow
without any breath
family, nation or life!
