Clear
was the day of attack
(oh some
were warned)
America
in Pearl Harbor
with no
declaration of war
ceasing
of diplomatic ties
lost in
the endless red tape
(Russia
knew and Japan)
(some
say others knew too)
out of
the skies planes
‘Tora –
Tora – Tora’ heard
complete
surprise complete
then
started the carnage
ships in
the harbor with crews
some in
dry dock for repairs
planes
in neat rows in place
barracks
strafed as well
till
after the 2nd wave quiet
sirens,
explosions, silence
clear is
now the memory
of this
‘day of infamy’!
