What we can never know someday

is how we treat others and them us

are we building or tearing down each

wherein what is it we’re trying to teach?

 

Shadows beckon us today to discern

all that is good and worthy to achieve

never knowing who’ll we’ll someday be

in this nation where we’re found free!
