Once called volunteers

serving others freely

much like grandparents

good dogs and cats

watching out for needs

keeping others safely

fireman-first aiders

so many oh so many

only so few now left

grandparents and pets

volunteers free to give

while others now legalized

no longer to be unpaid

liable to be sued

which are we known

once called volunteers?
